Carbon black

Carbon black is virtually a pure form of elemental carbon manufactured through incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of heavy hydrocarbons. Being one of the most important industrial chemicals manufactured worldwide, carbon black finds application in an array of industrial goods and products including tyres, plastics, inks, coatings, etc. Tyre industry is the leading consumer of KS Industries, globally, as the industry uses it as a reinforcing filler to improve the longevity of tyres.

Composition of Inorganic Content 12-18 %

» 9 12% Silica – this material has been found to be active and promotes reinforcement in all-polymer compounds.

» 2-5% Zinc Oxide Studies have shown that these small inconsistent amounts are not significant enough to alter curing time.

» 1-3% Sulphur

» 1.2% Inert Material The remaining material is considered to be neither an advantage nor a disadvantage to the performance of the final compound.

» KS Industries Recovered Carbon typically offers semi-reinforcing properties at economical prices.

» For Colloidal Properties (specific surface area), under ASTM standard methodology, our Recovered Carbon belongs to N300 to N500 Carbon Black series.

» For performance in reinforcing properties in rubber compound, under ASTM standard methodology, our Recovered Carbon belongs to N600 to N700 Carbon Black Industries series.
